How to qualify?
- Citizenship: You must have a valid South African Identity Document.
- Legal age: You must be between 18-60 years old to apply for cover.
- Available to: Only Barko Loans clients who qualify for cover.
Select the cover that is best for you:
- Premium Cover – R 70 per month (for main member between the ages of 18 – 59 / Cover Amount: R 30 000) – Call Me Back
- Premium PLUS (Cash back) Cover – R 90 per month (for main member between the ages of 18 – 59 / Cover Amount: R 30 000 / Includes cash-back) – Call Me Back
- Standard Cover – R 35 per month (for main member between the ages of 18 – 59 / Cover Amount: R 15 000 ) – Call Me Back
- Standard PLUS (Cash back) Cover - R 50 per month (for main member between the ages of 18 – 59 / Cover Amount: R 15 000 / Includes cash-back) – Call Me Back
*The PLUS Cash back policies provide one years’ premium in cash back for every five claim free years.
*You may add up to 13 additional family members on your policy.
They can fall into any of the listed groups or categories as long as the total number across all the groups or categories is not more than 13 family members.
Restrictions & waiting period
- A claim waiting period applies to every person covered under this policy, including partner and children.
- There is a 6 (six) month claim waiting period for death as a result of natural causes, for new policies.
- There is a 12 (twelve) month claim waiting period for death as a result of suicide, for new policies.
- There is no waiting period for accidental death.
- Product can be purchased by age group up to 70 years old.
- You have a 31 (thirty one) day cooling off period in which you may cancel the policy.
- You have a 31 (thirty one) day cooling off grace period calculated as from 1 (one) day after you missed a premium (excluding your first premium payable). Your cover will remain in force during the grace period.
- Should you miss a premium, you will need to bring it up to date within 30 (thirty) days.
- 2 (two) unpaid monthly premiums, will result in your policy automatically lapsing (cancelled).
- If you pay the arrears on your funeral cover before your policy automatically lapses, your policy will be reinstated and your funeral cover will remain active.
